Though it seems new and trendy, the profession of the death doula is rooted in age-old traditions that span cultures and histories. Death Doulas are a necessary part of any healthy society, blending ancient wisdom with heartfelt presence as they guide individuals and their families through the sacred transition of death, and helping to ensure equitable, dignified end-of-life experiences for all.
Our introductory course, Death Doula 101, invites you into the heart of this sacred role. Here, you'll uncover the historical importance and modern-day revival of Death Doulas. We delve deep into what services a Death Doula provides and how this age-old practice has been rejuvenated to address the intricacies of contemporary end-of-life care.
Whether you're dipping your toe into deathwork, thinking about hiring a doula for a loved one, or just death-curious, this course is an accessible, down-to-earth exploration that pulls back the curtain and answers your questions.
